After refining his engineering expertise and driving skills in the world of racing, Jean Rédélé founded Alpine in 1955. He named the brand after his favourite racing terrain, the Alpine hills. Relaunched in 2017, Alpine still embodies the original three core principles of the brand – lightness, agility and competitive spirit – to create something truly unique and special.
Alpine was bought by the Renault Group in 1973. Furthermore, the Alpine competition department merged with Renault Sport in 1976.
Alpine cars are produced at the Alpine plant located in Dieppe, a seaport town in France.
Depending on the model and the trim of an Alpine car, the price can range from £30,245 to over £200,000.
Currently, the A110, A290 and the A390 are available from Alpine. However, they have plans to launch many more cars to create their dream garage, including the re-imagined A110, which should arrive in 2027.
